Get to the Lodge

The Ormond Ski Lodge is part of the Mount Hotham ski village and is located near to the Big D chair lift.

How to get to Mt. Hotham

Mt Hotham resort is located on the crest of the Great Alpine Road.  There are two approaches to Hotham you can take.

Main route: Take the Hume Freeway to Wangaratta, turn onto the Great Alpine Road (B500) and go through Myrtleford and Bright to Mt. Hotham.
Alternate route: Take the Princes Highway to Bairnsdale and turn onto the Great Alpine Road (B500) through Omeo.

Parking at the Lodge

Ski season: During the ski season, all Lodge guests need to park in the designated overnight parking areas which are further down the Great Alpine Road towards Dinner Plain. Do not park in the day parking areas. There is a temporary drop off area below the Lodge where guests can park to bring baggage and personal items up to the Lodge.

For 2015, Mt. Hotham Resort has introduced a system of pre-purchasing Resort Entry online - click here for more details.

Summer parking: During the summer months it is possible to park behind the Lodge. The route is to turn right off the Great Alpine Road at Big D, drive between the bottom of the Big D chairlift and the Big D building, then follow the track up the hill. After passing under the chair lift, turn left at the intersection to drive around Aardvark lodge and to the back of Ormond Lodge.  The access is closed during ski season or when there is snow on the trail.
